Yes affairs are one thing.. but I hope that if lying and obstructing evidence of an affair unseats a President, its just the beginning.

We can then go after all the gentlemen's agreement donations made to get tanks and missles and submarine construction contracts. We can go after all the dirty little wars that go on for getting a Toyota plant into one state versus another, or the overseas bribing and hush money that goes on behind closed doors.

We can go after all the smoking legislation that's had alleged witness tampering, lying and payoffs. We can go after some really high minded officials who don't pay taxes on poor labor, cheap house help, immigrant labor.

We can go after those who get stock market tips and sweet deals. We can go after some of the robber barons in and out of wall street who use the law to put your money into their pockets and don't pay their fair share of taxes, because they're powerful enough to bend the tax codes or the flow of events to their favor...

Sure lets get tough, lets get moral... lets start with the 95% in business who admit they lie when its necessary to get the job done..

Lets not forget our national home run hero.. he knows its wrong to take performance enhancement compounds, we know its wrong, and the czars of baseball know its wrong... I don't want my kid thinking he's a hero. He broke the record pumped up on synthetic musscle and nerves...

Sure, lets get tough_ lets get moral...

Affairs are one thing. Perjury, obstruction, subornation of perjury, conspiracy and abuse of office by a sitting President are another.

The first stage of the grieving process is denial. It is human nature.
Lying or refusing to disclose details of a sexual affair is something that many human beings do at some point in their lives. It is normally of little consequence. What consenting adults do behind closed doors is thought by some to have certain privacy protections. I am glad we have had a vibrant and virile President like Clinton who makes love rather than war, instead of a sterile and perverse demagogue who engages in orgiastic expressions of hostility like killing innocent peasants in Vietnam.

I'd rather have a President who may be a philanderer like Kennedy or Roosevelt, than an upright and destructive prig like Nixon. Let he who is free of sin cast the first stone.
