Stocky,
There was some tweaking to get the speeds up...there is always tweaking. So? What's you're point?
The 333 wasn't announced until July. The K6-2 was announced in Late May at 266 and 300. Maybe it was supposed to be at 333 too. I don't know. I don't care at this point.
Like I said, go ahead and short AMD...buy puts, sell it short...whatever.
Jim

StockMan, I liked this part of the article that you provided:

AMD is no longer strictly pricing its chips 25 percent below an equivalent Intel chip running at he same speed, said Dana Krelle, vice president of marketing at AMD.

Instead, AMD is pricing its chips to ensure that a computer built around an AMD will cost less than a system built around the closest Intel competitor.

Perhaps AMD marketing is finally beginning to gain some wisdom. Not only are they going to ditch the crazy "25% discount" plan, but they are also looking at the cost of the whole platform in their market positioning of their products.

Meanwhile, despite the slippery slope of the Dow, it seems that there is good news coming from the semiconductor markets. This is excellent news for AMD, meaning that they don't have to wrestle too much marketshare away from Intel in order to grow in sales.

Now all I need is that egomaniac of a CEO to step down from his post, and I'll be an AMD supporter.
