GM, From Electronic News Online READ-RITE DEMONSTRATES ADVANCED MAGNETORESISTIVE HEADS -- Read-Rite Corp. has successfully demonstrated fully integrated pico giant magnetoresistive heads capable of an areal density of 13.5 gigabits per square inch. "The demonstration of 13.5 gigabits per square inch represents the highest areal density announced in our industry and utilized a read and write head integrated on the same pico slider body," said Subrata Dey, VP, advanced technologies today.
