The information is outdated and not wholly correct for current
state-of-the-art. Discharge plasmas are generally broadband,
and are fairly optimized for output power today. Laser excited
sources, especially when combined with liquid drop targets, are
limited only by the pulse rate of the lasers, which can still
be increase by orders of magnitude using synced multiple laser
schemes, and can concentrate the power into a narrower energy
range than plasma, necessary if one plans to incorporate a
multilayer reflective collimator. Moreover, liquid droplet
sources can match or better synchrotrons for source size: 0.01
microns is possible. They are potentially cheaper and easier
to operate than plasma sources. JMO.
