Clark & All,

Strange Ericy news;

Sweden's Ericsson hangs up in Myanmar
Journal of Commerce

The Free Burma Coalition said Swedish
telecommunications company [ Ericsson ] has
announced it will cease doing business in
Myanmar.

They said Ericsson officials agreed to pull out because of concerns raised in
the United States and the damage it was causing the company's reputation.

The North American concert tour by pop star Celine Dion, sponsored by
Ericsson, was met with protesters in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington,
the coalition said.

It added that ordinary citizens in Myanmar caught with a cellular phone, fax
machine or modem without a permit from the military face a prison sentence
of up to 15 years.

Clark:

I wouldn't call it failure. The Q has come up with innovative ideas. They figured out a way to implement CDMA in a civilian application. However, compare the Q's sales with that of ERICY, ALA, NOKA, MOT, LU, et al. They have an uphill fight. Look at the sheer size of their competition.
