All these objections were raised at the time the minimum wage increase was mooted. Predictions of economic disaster were made. However, the US economy kept growing at a healthy clip. In fact, the increase in the minimum wage was probably what kept the economy going. Sort of like what Henry Ford used to say about people being able to afford cars only if you pay them decent wages.
