Ike,

An excerpt form this AM's WSJ:

Russian President Boris Yeltsin on
Thursday nominated Foreign Minister Yevgeny
Primakov to be prime minister in a bid to end a bitter
dispute with the parliament that has hindered efforts to
end the economic crisis.

Government officials said Mr. Yeltsin nominated Mr.
Primakov, 68 years old, after Viktor Chernomyrdin
asked the president not to nominate him as prime
minister for a third time.

"I cannot harm Russia. Russia has had enough upheavals
this century. This is my choice," said Mr. Chernomyrdin,
who had been acting prime minister.

Mr. Yeltsin made the decision to nominate Mr.
Primakov after meeting with him and Mr. Chernomyrdin
at the Kremlin.

This may calm the markets.

J.D.

Morning IKE

during this time frame the semis will make a "real" bottom IMO...

wait till after eps this Q, and then nibble some and leg into solid positions 1/3 at a time...

when the market did not follow thru strongly yesterday i knew there was more trouble ahead...people should just stand aside till the dust settles...some time in late Nov-Dec, after tax-loss sales, to pick up "Todays" stocks at "cheaper prices"....

IKE way too many problems out there for this market....

the "bearishness" is at levels I haven't seen in years....very bullish overtones...

Crazy Screwball Idea...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For those Conspiracy theory nuts try this on for size... While many in Congress are chomping at the bit to Impeach Clinton, they are also mindful of the negative impact that would have on their 401k's, IRA's, and other market investments... So, while we may see a lot of negative rhetoric, greed will win out... Clinton will be censured, but will remain in office... To lend credence to this Crazy Screwball Idea, Newt Gingrich spoke before the House today on what is considered proper decorum during this House review of the Starr report... Newt must be heavily invested in the market... : >
