once fear and uncertainty grip the market, 5.25% will sound great. btw, 0.25% rates in japan didn't prevent the nikkei from staying 60% below its high of 39k 10 years ago...

neither did low interest rates prevent the 1929 disaster nor did they cause anything close to a quick recovery...

iow, don't bet the farm on low interest rates saving the day... imho... but, you already pointed this out and i should have read the rest of your post ;-)
