Kathleen, We have to remember that everyone is Europe, especially England, is happy when America stubs its toe. But much of what they say may be true. We don't know, as we have not read the 36,000 pages of evidence.

Several questions arise: 1. Will Clinton resign for the good of the country if he is impeached? 2. Even if convicted, are the charges serious enough to cause 2/3 of the Senate to vote him out of office? If he doesn't resign, of course. Or will they wimp out and censure him the way they did Newt when he got caught. 3. If he does resign, will they go after President Gore for campaign finance scams? This is a more serious issue, as nobody in Congress has clean hands on this type of thing.

It is looking more and more like Watergate, where Spiro first resigned for being a crook and then Nixon did the same. Though the order is more likely to be reversed here.
