Stitch,

Have you heard much word from rural areas about the effects of the recession? Here, events like construction slowdowns and the return of migrant workers have their strongest effects outside the cities, as workers from the country go back to the villages minus incomes. The absence is not immediately noticeable, as they don't much frequent shopping malls etc., but it is a substantial contribution to economic stress out in the sticks.
