Hi Don--as always your analysis has been incredibly accurate--esp your recent read of the Asian markets.

In fact your index updates have become part of my required reading

>>ABBEY JOSEPH COHEN

I think that AJC is a very sharp lady--the thing that caused me to discount her views is the fact that her firm is looking to go public. I just cannot see how, given this fact, that is going to mean millions to the partners, she can paint a negative picture of the market's outlook. I am NOT suggesting that she is being dishonest--just that it could impact the way that she sees things.

>>So I agree that the average person is not that full of fear.

I agree with that--see my comments to Arik as to the probable turning point.

>>Here's one of the common comments they make - that people like me, TRADERS and those who SHORT the market, is what is ruining this market and pushing it down<<

Sheesh--I did not realize that one of your friends was Mahatir:)

Hi Don, long time.

Thinking about joining us on the "Dark Side"?

I get pretty much the same stuff, except people don't accuse me of ruining their nest eggs. The older people I have to credit...they still have memories fresh in their minds from their parents' description of what a market failure can do. But many others suddenly have become speculators, although they view themselves as investors.

I find that I prefer to change the subject and I never start the conversation in the first place.

Anyway, it's when the public gets truly bearish it will be the time for the major bargains to be found...if you and I have the nerve.

I just sold the Dec contract at 95.50; I think I may be a tad early.
