Nice post, Nancy. Thanks. I think you took my post in a way I didn't intend it. I was not speaking to spiritual truth. I was speaking to the development of the concept of God in the books Kings 1 and 2 from a cultural anthropological point of view concerning why there is so much killing in the name of "god" there. I will admit that I think the idea of a creator god creating something, damning it, and intending to save it (or some of it) is repulsive; I personally am not interested in a god like that. What IS appealing to me, though, are the principles of justice that develop over time in the history of Yahweh.
