Serge, Obviously this Monica set-up was/is not a French plot... (POLITICALLY CORRECT OFF)It's an Israeli plot! Remember when it started? This Monicagate unfolded right after Clinton met with Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Nethanyahu and just before he met with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. How ridiculous Arafat looked when, during the press conference he held with Clinton, not a single question was asked re: the Peace Process! All the journalists were harassing President Clinton on his relationship with Monica Lewinsky. This is quite unfortunate because a majority of American Jews are sincerely supportive of the Oslo agreements, that is Peace traded for Land but an active, (far)rightist minority in Israel and in the US back Nethanyahu in his stubborn perjury with regard to the Oslo agreement... Now, how all this leads us to Monica? After all, she's just a charming JAP born in Frisco in 1973 and educated in a upper-middle-class family, along with her brother Michael. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and she was born with a golden er... well, you get the picture! In short, I think that Monica was sent over to the White House with a single mission: to compromise the President in order for the pro-Israeli lobby to keep a strong leash on him in case he might be re-elected --and he was. That was an easy job: Clinton's Achilles heel with women was notorious, and Monica's a kind of sexpot, isn't she? The Likud administration dreams of a larger Israel and it's not ready to ''give away'' 13% and change of Israel's current territory to the Palestinians. On the other hand, Clinton's got a global, security-oriented agenda and he's the only statesman who can force the Israeli to comply with a foreign policy. The US are the main creditor of Israel and the only member of the UN Security Council to consistently veto any ''anti-Israel' memorandum. Yet, as a Democrat, Clinton was accountable to a majority of Jewish American citizens --some of them being Wall Street bankers as well, e.g. Bob Rubin, former co-Chair of Goldman, Sachs-- and, as we all know, fund-raising is so critical for any would-be President... That's true for a first or second presidential mandate --not for a third one! As a re-elected U.S. President, fund-raising is the other guy's problem, as far as Clinton is concerned... He's a free man!! In two years he will enter History, no more campaigns, no more election meetings, etc. That was really a danger for those who thought they kept the White House under control. Clinton had the intention to make both the Israeli and the Palestinians comply with the Oslo Accords --the same way he did it successfully in Nothern Ireland. Nethanyahu was complaining about the PLO's unwillingness to fight terrorism? OK: Clinton agreed with Arafat on sending over the local head of the CIA! And the CIA guy reportedly admitted that the PLO was effectively fighting ''in-house'' terrorism... This has really pissed off Nethanyahu! How could he manage to sabotage the US policy?
