Pat, Dell cannot stand alone against global market and political forces.

Granted, it is a brilliantly executed company that has clearly shrugged off the PC difficulties over the last year and has continued to gain market share. However, the markets look more and more gloomy. Why would you buy Dell at 55 when you might be able to pick up some at 50 (for argument's sake). In a global market crash (not implausible) I can't imagine that Dell would not be effected.
