Of course DELL will go on trading for another five years. It will also handily outperform the market over this period of time.

The issue at hand is whether its current P/E is appropriate to the market and the times. If P/E valuations sink into the high teens over the next few months (a not unthinkable scenario), then how will the market justify a P/E for Dell around 70? Granted, the tech sector has high P/E's compared to the "old" stocks ... but it has to come down to be fairly valued in a bear market.
