Brian,

the amazing about the market is the reaction to "news". So far Russia and slick Willie are largely responsible for change in sentiments. However, Japan, and now SA, are substantially more important to our markets.

CNBC interviews both bulls and bears. I noticed that many bears are analysts of international departments of brokerage houses such as Barton Biggs and a guy from Bear Stearns (whose name I forgot). They gave their opinion with strong support based on their research and understanding of the global market. On the bull side, you have individuals like Abby Joseph Cohen and Joe Battaglia who gave no credible reasons for their stance.

Having been negative for so long, I must admit that I am salivating in anticipation of the mother of all buy opportunities as soon as the dust settles here.
