Fingerprint Gunlock
Popular Mechanics 9/98

ÿexcerpt

But even better solutions may be coming down the pike. Spurred by the industry's agreement, companies are developing promising, new "smart" systems. Oxford Micro Devices (203/924-9933) is developing a grip with a microchip that stores the thermal imprint of several different fingerprints.
ÿÿÿÿIf the user's print matches one stored in memory, the gun is functional in a heartbeat. Wrong fingerprint, the gun doesn't fire.

Oxford Micro Devices
A prototype of this experimental lock uses two microchips and a solenoid. The first chip reads and stores fingerprints. If it gets a match, it sends a signal to the second chip, which sends an electrical impulse to the solenoid. The solenoid then retracts the locking pin.

J. Saf,

I'm surprised at the tone of your last post.......You are a hard guy to convince! I'll bet you were the guy who refused Bill Gates a small loan to get his little company going.

The DDSI machine will be at the Westergaard show?......and from there, will, no doubt....be rushed off to the Smithsonian under heavy security.

Now that SACM and DDSI have found Westy......Look out. My hunch is that despite aggressive public relations.......very difficult times lay dead ahead for these two jewels.

This is why IDX should distance themselves from these two stocks. Should either become the next Biometric-scam......the fact that IDX can be found in the same zip code.......could be rather negative.

I realize that I risk a run-in with the WBN cyber-patrol......but I do believe that IDX should now withdraw from this relationship....and deploy the resources in some other area.

I will be mystified until IDX makes this move. I do not believe IDX should be sharing any stage with any other biometric company. The history of the industry is just too murky.

Now we have to worry about DDSI and whoever else is in the pink sheets? We still hold lots of IDID. A scary thought IDX is now selling near IDID's before the shutdown. Wow hand me the Xanix and the hemlock.
Does anybody have a take as who would be selling at these prices? could it be some of the insiders who got the stock for nothing? The only reason I would sell now would be to satisfy a margin call again.
