<<going into cahoots with an illegal wiretaptrix, >>

Interestingly enough, Tripp may not have broken any laws with the tapings - with one party in Maryland and one outside the state, federal laws apply, and federal law only requires that one party to the conversation agree to the taping (comment based on talking head analysis the other night on MSNBC). We'll see what the outcome of that court case is later.

<<I agree that the files were lying around, but as for prying, there was never any proof of that, and Congress closed down their hearings without ever making such a finding>>

Isn't this part of the Starr investigation? If so, we may be hearing more about that later, too. One of the many accusations was that a database was being prepared, using the FBI files, to establish an enemies list. Supposedly there were eyewitnesses that were questioned by Starr.

<<from taking tips from a Arkansas informant who was on the right wing conspiracy's payroll>>

Recently rebuttd by Hale - apparently he never received any money from the source you describe. Whether his statement is true, of course, will be fodder for future postings.

Hi DougH-
Let's set the record straight:

There was no "secret" task force (let alone plural "forces"). There was litigation between the WH and a physicians' group over whether the deliberative sessions of the health care task force should be held in public or not and whether their records should be open to the public. Otherwise, the task force's sessions were public--indeed, they were based on public discourse.

The problem with the task force was that by law meetings would be made private if the task force was made up of public employees. Hillary and Ira Magaziner both signed affidavits that they were all public employees but it turns out they paid millions to consultants to help their group. In other words, they lied and forced to open the hearings and pay for the doctors' legal fees.

I agree that the files were lying around, but as for prying, there was never any proof of that, and Congress closed down their hearings without ever making such a finding.

I know you don't believe or give credibility to Linda Tripp, but she apparently saw White House employees loading data from the files into a taxpayer-paid $3 million computer system used for DNC purposes. We'll find out if this is true soon.

As for Hillary's role, (in travelgate) who cares whether she ordered his firing or not? As I said, the President can fire or remove anyone he wants for any reason he has.

She swore under oath she had nothing to do with the firings, contradicting David Watkins. We'll find out soon.

I'll just accept our differences in your assessment of Ken Starr.

Counting the hours until Friday...

<< Of course it's a conspiracy. Just because it's been a highly successful conspiracy to uncover wrongdoing by the President doesn't negate the fact that it is a conspiracy--paid for by laundered money from fundamentalist Christians, eccentric billionaires, and Arkansas enemies. >>

Well said. This entire sad event is about sex. President Clinton's enemies and the Republican party used President Clinton's sexual misconduct to entrap him with perjury.

The dow is down 250 points. President Clinton's enemies and the Republican Party are willing to do serious damage to this country, over a long, long time, in order to regain control of the WH, IMHO.

Voters should express indignation to this entrapment in November!

Regards, Bob

DougHboy, instead of going through a point by point rebuttal describing and explaining the mountains of evidence on these matters. I will simply take one subject and describe very clearly how your logic thought patters are irrational.

<<<<hundreds of FBI files laying around the White House prying into peoples lives.

I agree that the files were lying around, but as for prying, there was never any proof of that, and Congress closed down their hearings without ever making such a finding.
>>>>

We know that there were in the neighborhood of 900-1100 FBI files taken to the White House. if each file was about 1/4 inch thick, this would represent a stack about 18ft high. To suggest that a stack of FBI files 18ft high was brought to the White house, and never used for political purposes is beyond naive.

Questions to ask yourself.

1. Why were the FBI files brought there?
2. Who had access to the files?
3. Whose files were they?
4. How long were they there?
5. Is this something normally done or an extremely unusual event?

To believe, as you seem to, that nearly a thousand FBI files 18 ft high were hauled to the White House, (over the objection of FBI personnel). And then never used for political purposes, is to be be purposefully positioned like an ostrich with your head in the sand.

The rest of your topics follow this same kind of partison illogical understanding of human behavior.
