My point was that the increased minimum-wage didn't derail the economy, which was the bogeyman that those who were opposing the increase were bandying about.

Most minimum-wage (and near minimum-wage) earners spend almost all their earnings and are left with very little to save/invest. So there can be little doubt about how much their spending contributed to the robustness of the economy.

It is only those who earn much higher than minimum-wage who have disposable income to throw into the stock-market (some of whom are stupid enough to believe that they can get out when a bear-market looms and get back in time for the bull run ;-) )
