This is truly ominous for Slick:

The White House expects the report to consume Washington and
is looking for a veteran Democrat to act essentially as a campaign
manager in a bid to rescue the presidency.

White House sources said Wednesday that former Oklahoma
Rep. Jim Jones and former Maine Sen. George Mitchell had been
considered for the job, but both balked, saying they did not have
the time it would take to do the job.

He is doomed. And they know it. Perhaps they even want it.
