Questions Re Silver Lease Rates: Hi Ray! What are your current feelings regarding the possibility of the reawakening of the Silver Bull? Do you know what the current lease rates are for silver? Is there any site on the web that charts changes in lease rates? Do you feel that the lease rates offer a realistic picture of how tight the supply/demand picture is? Just trying to figure out why silver is not yet moving when there is supposedly so little available.... Thanks! THC

Disparity in US vs. Japan Silver Futures Prices: I recently started looking into silver futures as a way to play the possible appreciation of silver over the next few years. Since I live in Japan, I have started to look at prices & charts in yen terms. I found that the futures prices in the US & Japan appear to differ: US$ (1000 ounces) Sept. 98 4950 Aug. 99 5513 Japanese yen (0.1 yen/10 grams) Sept. 98 218 Aug. 99 208.4 So while in the US there is a premium for the longer term futures, the Japanese market is offering a discount. This may be a silly question, but why the disparity? Yen prices are available at www.tocom.or.jp/souba/souba_j.html I also noticed that in yen terms the long term silver chart looks rather bullish: harbest.co.jp/gif/montsi.gif Any comments would be appreciated.
