BRASILIA, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Brazilian President Fernando
Henrique Cardoso called on Thursday for the United States
and other members of the G7 group of industrialized nations to help stave off a crisis in world
markets that has battered Brazil.

''We must ... talk with world leaders. They must realize we are heading for a world situation that
requires firmer decisions, principally from the countries with representative leadership in the G7
and especially from the United States,'' Cardoso said.
