Even if this spin is true, then the Republican Party is still mean spirited by refusing to put a clause in the bill to protect the life and health of the mother.

What would it hurt to state, in the Parital Birth Abortion bill, that a mother's life and health is sacred?

The Republican Party's refusal to add a clause, protecting the mother, frightens me.
