Hi Sonny, Don't get me wrong, I do not have a fixation for Russians! gg I have travelled throughout the country since late 1960's, and am an admirer of Russian music and literature. Russia today is a a highly troubled nation, that sooner than later will break into hundereds of pieces. They like to blame the 4 centuries Tatar yoke , Invasions from the West by Swedes and Germans, autocartic rules by the Romanovs, and finally 70 years of Communism for their misery. I can't say if they are right or wrong, but they are in a mess. The new prime minister is Evgeny Primakov,is good friend of Saddam Hussien, EX-HEAD KGG, an accompalished Arabist, speaks Arabic fluently (can't hold it against him,gg) and knows the Middle East very well. He entered the foreign service under Stalin in 1953, and worked closely with Andre Gromyko. He is a DOC anit-American, anti-western, and highly dislikled and distrusted by the US State Department for the way he behaved during the Bosnian crisis and varius crisis with Iraq! (this is the reason Russian Commuist Part put forth his nomination. The man indeed has funny credintials to lead the country to toward democary!! GGG Russians kept the West kept from 1945 to 1990. We slept at night not knowing when their tanks will break through the Fulda Gap! Since 1990 untold billions of dollars been given to them in the form of aids, only to make a Happy Few rich! I think all form of aids to these Russia be cut until we know what direction their political and economical reforms will take. Kind regards, Yaacov
