Would you also view Sanders is a show-stopper with regard to being a roadblock, repellant, or otherwise deterrent to top notch people possibly wanting to join AMD's employment ranks?

That could be a factor. If it's taboo to walk out of a meeting when Jerry Sanders is speaking, I'll bet it's taboo to voice any disagreements you may have with Sanders, if you're in such a position.

But as for regular engineers in the trenches, I doubt that Sanders himself is going to be much of a discouragement to join AMD. I think a lot of companies in Silicon Valley have CEO's who are confirmed jerks. Yet it won't matter as long as the engineers are allowed to produce some real results and put it on their resumes. (Of course, this is assuming that the engineer wants to join the microprocessor group. No one who cares about short-term job security will want to join up with Vantis and AMD's other divisions, assuming that they're hiring.)

I just think that as long as Sanders is CEO, AMD will still have the Fuchi-like obsession with Intel affecting their business strategies.

To answer my own question, I guess not (post #36945).

OTOH, I have no idea what "notch" the guy fits into.
