I sent a message to the GSTRF thread asking for a general summary. Will let you know what they say, but it looks like GSTRF now aiming for end of 1999 launch of service, so the 40% drop may be due to the six-month or so delay.

Apparently GSTRF will lose $300 million in 99 revenue and will now have to raise additional capital, I assume through the largesse of their partners. Safety margins wearing very thin, apparently. A very good summary on GSTRF thread by Dougjn, who listened to the CC; again, if I didn't have Compuserve, I could cut and paste the link.

I neglected to mention that GSTRF will also have to cough up an additional $80 million for more launches. Serves them right for using those cheap-ass Ukrainian rockets, or whatever they were. Apparently they have something like a 25% failure rate; they were warned of this beforehand, according to Today's Washington Post.

Man, the Internet is really backed up today. Does anyone really care what Clinton did with a cigar?
