Your credentials are very impressive and I tip my hat if they are what you said they are. Assuming you graduated when you said you did, then you are much older than me and I couldn't have been in the field longer than you have been alive.
Perhaps the companies I deal with chose other box makers over CPQ, but the fact still remains that as desktops get more powerful, the need for over priced workstations declines. You failed however to answer my question, why did DEC go under if they were so good?. Novell Netware is excellent, but where are they today?. As for your investment strategy, I also own all the stocks you mentioned, so we may be on a par.
Have I heard of exchange and SAP??. We use both on our NT servers.
My credentials? Let's say I have none. Your threat of exposure?. I love intellectual debates and not name calling. Take care.

and a masters EE majoring in control theory

no Ph.D.?? I've been giving you too much credit.

Seriously, I was wondering about something. I was at Wesleyan University recently and they used Digital computers. I asked the IT guy and he said they're switching soon...probably to Dell.

Question #1: is this going on alot?
Question #2: What is Compaq doing about it?
