the arabs are so gold crazy they had to be sweet talked for 5 years before yamani would take anything but gold for oil.

When Amoco first landed in Arabia felix looking for goo in the 20's they had to pay Ibn Saud in gold. He would accept nothing else. and he rode a camel in a war to unite the tribes. Dare I say he was a great camel err ahh rider?

I certainly hope that most currencies return to the gold standard, at least to some degree. I doubt there would be the same global currency problems that exist right now.

Gold has taken a little run today, but I don't know how sustained it will be.
