SNDK is trading at its book value.
Can this stock go any lower? Did any stock ever go down to its cash value?

Rich,

My request did not fall on deaf ears. I was able to listen to the recording of the conference call. Thanks for the lead. I bugged I.R. about that after the last C.C.

It was nice to hear Eli (pronounced "Ellie", not "Ely") on the recording. He seems to have a good sense of the CompactFlash market, its competitors and allies, in addition to being an engineering genius.

He confirmed my belief about CF. The issue of write speeds will not haunt us as the logic in the camera is the rate-limiting step. Even with 1.5 or 2.0 megapixel cameras I suspect that minimally compressed file sizes will not exceed 500 or 750KB per file. Being able to achieve 1.5 MB/sec write speeds insures the viability of this medium. Also, the notion of ever lower entry prices for CF versus the relatively high and fixed entry cost for "rotating media" will hopefully work in our favor. Let's let IBM will carry the CFA banner for a while and blaze further inroads (that is, new design-ins) while we hammer the last few nails into the SmartMedia coffin.

Eli was equally surprised at the market's overreaction to the IBM press release. Unfortunately, there has been no inside buying at these prices. Last month somebody exercised options without a subsequent sale. Does anybody understand the reasoning of that type of transaction?
