Addi :

Do you have any information (references, links etc.) regarding the real-estate prices in the Bay Area? I would be interested in that.

Regarding people clamoring for stocks when they are priced high and shunning them when they are low, it is but natural. But one wouldn't react that way if they were looking at dividend yields...

For example, DBD is a stock that I bought at an average price of $33 and with a dividend yield of about 2.0% The stock has declined to about $22 and the dividend yield has increased to nearly 3.0% now. But this only makes me MORE interested in it, NOT LESS! Because future dividends are more than likely to keep increasing since DBD has an uninterrupted record or raising its dividends for 44 consecutive years.

But since such high initial yields need to be protected from taxes, I am waiting to set up my 1999 IRA and once I do that, I will confidently add to my investment in DBD. I am only hoping that the stock continues to be depressed for a while! :-)

Dipy.
