russ, I believe "they" switched to quoting the Decembers as the key contract on Tuesday. I seem to recall CNBS getting all confused about this earlier in the week.

Hey Deef, how in hells bells is the future trading at an 11 point discount to cash? I've never heard of it that out of wack. Someone must have chopped the fingers off the arb geeks. -g-

I don't like this INTC biz with all my tech poots. -nfg-

Time to get a cool one.

Regards, IS

Russell,
IceShark covered it. The quarterly "rollover" is
underway as Sep open positions are moved or rolled
into Dec. Watch the change in open interest over the next
week. For big players, the decision when to roll is all
a spread/carry game. The decision to make the next contract
the lead in the pit, rather than the nearby, is made
by the pit committee.
IceShark, you were also right about the 10 pt.discount
being a rare event. Don't recall another at the end of
a trading session. Somebody big really got reamed.<g>
