Jerry,

The semis are cheap but aside from a few select companies IMO they are dead money for the forseeable future...Overcapacity is killing them and throw in the deepening crisis in Japan...Spoke w/ one of the smaller cap equipment companies today and I can tell you they sounded downright pessimistic for the next 12-24 months. If INTC coattails bring some companies along for the ride, it will be short lived...The only companies I like in the group are the ones supplying the networkers w/ chips like VTSS and LEVL...TXN has carved a good DSP niche and should do better than most going forward...The box makers of course are the direct beneficiaries of the extremely low compoment pricing environment we're in...Look at AAPL for crying out loud...I think ORCL will light a bit of a fire in the software sector as well...BMCS on these down days is a good buy...perhaps the drive makers will come to life...I remember the good ol' days of trading WDC...Billy boy is trying his best to come clean (no pun intended)...His apology speech of 8/17 will be viewed as the biggest gaffe in his presidency....He came across as pissed and defensive and in that moment dug his own political grave...

Enjoy,

johnny
