First Rubin et al jawbone the big dealers to monkey around with the futures. Now they're sufficiently worried that they're calling the big companies directly!. Rubin should instead try to get C to resign--now that would be good for 300 pts right from the getgo. Then get the corrodinated rate cut going for say next week. Another 500 pts. Now we're cooking. How long it lasts? About a few days at most.

I was wondering if anyone knows if GE is exposed internationally? You know, do they do business outside the US, because it appears that no one has money outside the US, or at least not enough. It would be wise for them to get rid of international exposure if they have any.

Anyone have Jack Welch's number, whoever he is? He is mentioned in that story.

And what is it with these good preannouncements anyway? Why is that happening?
