Don't worry, Orcle will file a suit against MSFT to prevent MSFT putting SQL server 7 into the market. Nowadays , the rule of success is if you can not compete with your
products , then crying to DOJ for help !!!!!

SQL Server 7 is looking great. Without getting specific (since I'm not sure what's confidential) I'll say that Microsoft's internal systems are mostly running on SQL 7 today, and have been for some time now.

Performance has been excellent. Upgrades from SQL 6.5 to SQL 7 are showing major performance increases without making any other changes to the applications or underlying hardware.
