GP:

I was "walking down the aisles" at Amazon.com and spotted this one -
it looks like it will do as a good intro. to the naively blissfully
communications protocol unaware people like myself:

(telecom book)
amazon.com

and this one looks good too though it may be soporofic:
amazon.com

Also I looked at a recent SubMicron Systems' release (this could
be one of the equips who might not make it based on cash flow and the size of current Q losses) and see what they say about the industry's prospects of a recovery:
"I don't see it [industry recovery] happening in 1999. I see 1999
remaining at current levels; maybe by mid-year 2000, we will see
people turning projects back on and adding capacity, and by the
end of the year 2000
, the semiconductor industry turning up",
says Mr. Ferran [CEO].

Well that is about what those stocks seem to be saying - in which case
it is going to be a long fall/winter/spring/summer/fall/winter/spring for that sector.<g> But who cares Friday should be up.

Shane (they keep pushing the recovery thing farther and farther back like the Energizer Bunny in reverse... <g>)
