Just for the record, folks who are thinking about buying LEAPS may be interested to know that the tax treatment for non-equity (index) options differs from equity options. Believe it or not, open positions in non-equity options must be marked to the market at the end of the calendar year. (Unless of course they've changed the rules since the last time I looked. Don't take my word for it -- ask an accountant.) -Greg
