There are only two national business papers in Canada. Financial Post and the Globe. I used to think Globe was just a bit better of the two but I don't think enough of either one to buy it. Scan through Globe now and then, just a habit but I find nothing original in terms of analysis. Basically, same suspects are quoted now and again and if the company's share price is doing great then slant is positive and if the company has had some trouble, then tone is all cautious. Typical financial reporting. Certainly nothing you can make money on.

Pat,

As difficult as it may be to believe, the Globe and Mail is the cream of Canada's Financial Press. I guess it shows that Canada, as a nation, still has much to achieve in terms of maturity.

Its coverage of specific companies in the Communications sector has frequently been negative in spite of the continuing business and stock market success of those same companies. I'm not a regular reader as it's coverage of the US market is either non-existent or a few days late with no added analysis or insight.

FWIW,
Ian.
