P.S. Sorry for the formating, but I don't want to spend the time to clean it up. :-)

Eric,

"I have done an indicator that spikes up if the conditions are correct for a magnet.

That's cool. Also is the volume study. Dude.

The mag scan is for a single issue. It scans the entire stock history for signals and spits the magnets out on a platter. It is a technical coding nightmare for me. And since I am sooooo slooooow it could take forever. Right now it runs around 20 minutes (no lie) and I think DJ can do an issue in about 5 . When Q+ adds more indicators to their tool kit it should go faster.

I first started out in MetaStock, hoping to draw the magnets in as indicators. The language is not as easy to do it in (it is much harder to do lookbacks and not much provision for counters and the like) and I think Q+ is more powerful. Also the maglines drawn as indicators in Meta are included in the price plot and when you refresh and it could make a chart harder to read, so it is better to draw a horizontal line.

more than you wanted to know, huh?

Eric, DJ, et al

I'm interested in learning more about this magnet thingy, sounds very parallel to what I'm into myself. I look for a hole and drop some jack.

definitely correlated to push/pull technology and I've allways supported and been a firm believer in reversing polarity of these asap if they're clear and a violation of its magnetic force is nullifed, dunno if that makes any sense to you, but that's how I've come to understand this. sometimes a good grasp of the underlying principles is all that one needs for a proper setup to signal optimumly, as it's easy to remeber the locations of the jacks, magnets, whatever, Properly sculpted stock market structures can make it readily apparant to all where to go next and we all win by it.

I see alot of parallel lines of thought here.

Magnet scan is similar to what you are doing but it gives all historical magnets also. It is a one heck of an undertaking for Bdog but he seems to enjoy the task. I appreciate the work he has put into it as I am pretty much a gimp when it comes to scans.

Please PM me what you have come up with. sounds like a good idea
