RD -OT- 1) There is. Laura Wolf just kindly pointed out the "DELL: Facts, Stats, News and Analysis " thread. 2) I don't consider investing entertainment. More like golf, an addiction. 3) Some people have better info in some areas due to their education, job or avocation. Like you and most others on this thread, I use information from many sources including you... Only when you exhibit your expertise in computer hardware and networking. Some of it useful, some interesting, some Hohum. I pay more attention to Mohan and Ibex on market and stock issues.. Donald Sew on market timing. When someone starts talking about Unix servers or NT I might just jump in if I think I have something to add or clarify. 4) No one likes to waste time. DELL and CPQ posts sometimes run 200-300 per day. If everyone were courteous and used "Off Topic" or "OT" in the first line, there would be no need for SI to have a "Clubhouse" for these threads. 5) When I shake a peach tree I don't expect to see avocados, plums, apples, oranges and tangerines fall. Just peaches, big ones, little ones, perfect ones, blemished ones, ..... but peaches. I see the peach pickers finding just the ones they like. Peach pickers discussing why they like their shape of peach.... trying to convince other pickers why theirs is better or different... even peach fights over pits or root stock or grafting methods. When I want apples, I will go shake an apple tree. 6) I don't know or care what you think a good post is. IMO, there are topical posts and "OFF TOPIC" posts. That is why SI has so many different threads ranging from "Ask God" to "Dell Bear Thread" to "Did Clinton Boink Monica". Some are blatantly political, some humorous, but all are by design TOPICAL. SI has been trying to encourage use of different threads for different purposes. They have even been helpful enough to provide the "Clubhouse" which looks more like a "OT" chat room. AND FINALLY - YES, WE ARE ALL HERE FOR EACH OTHERS EDIFICATION, COMISERATION, AND INDEED FOR SOME, ENTERTAINMENT. RW
