One question I've always been unsure of is - just what is the closing price anyway? Sounds silly. Well in todays markets (especially with the NYSE) we have:

* Two types of after hours trading
* Trading on other markets from Philadelphia to Hong Kong
* Other forms of trading
* Crossing of trades within the brokerage houses

And yet, I think it still applies, that the NYSE -member brokerage houses are obligated to report any trade in a NYSE stock no matter where made onto the tape.

I'm not sure that anything like this applies to NASDAQ and AMEX - but anyway, could this not also be a source of some of the disagreements?

Any comments?

All,

I'm trying to look at some mutual funds and when I do a scan with specific symbols it produces a nice list with the symbol and the fund name. I specify a directory for just these symbols and am using the virtual thingy.

When I try to view them via Metastock 6.5 I see the directory in the open file dialog and the fund names, yet when I double click on one I get blank windows for the price and all sub-windows. It seems like I don't have a setting "set" properly.

Any ideas?

TIA

Dale
