<<More on topic, the equips are suicidal now. An equip bear probably only needs to watch Japan.>>

Yeah, Japan really has been such an active player in the equipment market over the last couple of years...and its economy has been really strong for the last couple of years...and its policymaking has been really proactive over the past couple of years...At some point, one has to say that an economy is closer to a recovery than not. I, for one, certainly do not know if "this" is "that" time...but...

I won't disagree with you that AMAT could drop to the teens. AMAT could drop to $2, but I doubt it [I think there is support, as the TAs describe it at $3 13/32...because at that price, GE will purchase the entire company...Big, growing market, industry leader, at least a few Sigmas...nice corporate logo...!!!]

But, to say the entire group is suicide, that does seems "a bit of a broad brush." So, if AMAT drops to the teens, does that mean that LRCX files for bankruptcy after shipping its $400mm in cash to LG and Hyundai in an attempt to bail them out of the DRAM business?

Does NVLS drop in sympathy or does Mr. Hill make the agrument to the analyst community that Cu prices have dropped so precipitously over the last year that companies will move more quickly down the Road to Damascene than they would have otherwise because of the low Cu prices? In response, will they sign a JV agreement with Cyprus Amax to supply the raw material? In response-response, will AMAT acquire Phelps Dodge to become more familiar with the product?

I am just a bit grumpy this morning. My wife is starting a Charter School in S. Boston and needs me to carry a big load of text books to the car ... and she left my cell phone at her office ... and I ran out of coffee this morning ... and ...

P.S., Akidron, nice to have you back. I was beginning to miss your daily reminders about the "Dark Side of Capitalism!"

P.S.S., I really can not wait to read the 450+ page Penthouse Forum (errr, Whitehouse Forum?) that will be distributed over the web this afternoon...this really speaks to the importance of a connected world!
