I bought 100Aug calls at the beginning of July at $5. DELL was at mid to low 90's. When DELL hit 118 on July 17 the options were worth over $20 with lots of time value. However, time decay and DELL dropping to the 105 - 110 lost me a lot of potential gain - I think they went down to $6 at one stage. I had to wait for earnings release to cash in again at $20. So be careful not to hold on too long, if you are ITM early on, as the time value premium is worth a lot. Besides, with the market this volatile you should be able to buy back in again for less than you sell.
