LT,

I've been shorting Dell on and off for the last couple of weeks, and typically have made good money (mostly day trades). Today I shorted at 55 and failed to cover prior to closing (often times a risky decision). Of course, Intel had to pre-announce the day I'm short over nite. Obviously, we'll get a gap up in a.m., so I guessing I'm out a good 3-4 points early on.

Sounds as if you're more long term oriented. What is your take on Dell tomorrow, especially in afternoon, and then through next week? I'm going to set a buy stop at this weeks high at around 61. Hope to see a sell off into the weekend. Too bad that the Intel "earnings surprise that ain't no earnings surprise" had to come out the eve of what looked to be a long Friday for the longs (no pun intended).

Tico

LT, I have been long DELL for over two years and have done very well. I started trading the puts a few weeks ago and made money. I bought NEM calls a few days ago before the run up and made money. It just took an awareness of the overall market sentiment to time this, no need to be God. You are saying very logical things but you were way too early. Take a look at this post to see why logic does not always prevail and let me know your thoughts:
