Stock Prices in Tokyo Plummet

TOKYO (AP) -- Tokyo share prices took their biggest plunge of the year today on fears about instability in global financial markets and Japan's domestic economic woes. The Nikkei tumbled 749.05 points, or about 5 percent, to close at 13,916.98 -- the largest plummet so far this year in points and percentage. Hong Kong's stock index lost 3.5 percent, and in Singapore, stocks closed down about 1 percent.
