Andrew--Any thoughts on ASYT and BRKS at current levels (Cash being 77-79% of the stock price with no debt etc etc). Is this just margin calls/tax loss selling or is there something else going on -relative to the other depressed equips)?

AV,

I was thinking of SFAM... Now trading at near cash levels of $8.85. While they have stated that they will spend about $3 of that in 1999, it still seems very compelling.

Buy, Sell, Hold???

Your opinion much appreciated.

Rex

Andrew, How are you? Nice News Letter !!

Any views on CYMI at this juncture. Are there any possibilities that they might go OOB. Read something to that effect on the CYMI board.
LSI ceo says recovery in the semi equip sector should begin in the third or fourth quarter of 1999. These are scary times for Semiequip investors or maybe 1990 like buying opportunities. Your input is sincerely appreciated.

*AV*--To the point: Both IPEC and SFAM will probably both do very well as CMPO is embraced in the industry. I Think IPEC is the stronger of the two but I also believe that SFAM might be a better takeover target down the road. My inclination is a 60% - 40% split in favor of IPEC. This is just an opnion and not investment advice.

What is real intriguing is that the INTC 0.18u process going into production in 1999 along with the IBM copper process for 1999, will be the lead sled dogs to get CMP off the ground. The visibility here will carry forward I beleive.
