Morgan Stanley has upgraded AR and other base metal producers. Yesterday's WSJ ran an article that by one measure favored by the Cleveland Fed, inflation is less dormant than standard measures like the CPI would make it appear.

Maybe the recent strength in the gold stocks reflects more than just nervousness at the market decline? If the market stabilizes it will be interesting to see whether the golds give up their gains as they have in the past.

BTW, the Morgan Stanley analyst must be a strange duck - upgrading a sector before it's made a run?

ORCL, INTC,GADZ,KLIC,CNK,XYLN,CDG were already fixtures on the watch list waiting for a trend reversal....COMS and TLAB, the ones that did well through the downtrend were high on the list. During the down days we had the golds, the oils and the puts on the banking, brokerages and internet sector. And as always the intraday updates were timely.. Next week we should have the chat room.
