JPR and KG4:

What's really amazing is that, assuming these numbers, Michael Dell just made millionaires out of every single one of his current employees (in 7 years or so).

Five years after that, money won't matter, so the people who jump on board the Dell train get to ride in luxury to the end of the world as we know it. (I am speaking of nanotechnology in this paragraph.)

Oh, by the way, Amazon.com is suffering from my recent orders of the book Nano by Ed Regis; they are now experiencing a 3-5 week wait, and the book no longer has the discount. But barnesandnoble.com has a 20% discount, so I almost bought a bunch from them last night.

However, I followed the publisher back to littlebrown.com and will call them today and hopefully get a philanthropic discount, which I hope they'll set as the highest discount rate; I plan to talk to the Vice President of Sales.

I am still making my offer to purchase a copy of the book as a gift to the first 100 people to email me at kenbeal@bigfoot.com, although I'll be buying 500 copies so I might not stop at 100. ;-)

KG4: yes, I believe those numbers, only because I spelled it out clearly (instead of saying "$15K will be worth $1M") -- it looks amazing, but Michael thinks the fun part is just ahead, and others agree that their growth looking forward should exceed their past performance.

Enjoy,
KenB

I honestly think all bets are off in the next 12 years. Technology will advance so quickly that companies that move nimbly will be able to make many people rich, even if we suffer another depression. I believe Dell is one of those companies.

There's a lot to learn from history, but the portal we're about to pass through will completely change life as we know it. We're already making great strides toward that portal; Zyvex ( zyvex.com ) is convinced that they'll develop the first nanomachine assembler within the next 10 years.

So as for the October effect, while it might be seen in the broader market, I am not worried about either the Dell stock I'm holding or the November calls that I'm going to roll up to, as they expire three days after earnings are announced.

Life is very good these days. Hopefully those of you reading this who haven't already invested will do your DD and make up your mind, because in the past three earnings periods I've been blown away by their performance -- and I only wish that I had decided they weren't overpriced sooner.

Cheers,
KenB
