Hi all; A couple of more articles on the future of
PCs for those interested:

New specs create the 24-hour-a-day PC
By their very nature, consumer-electronics devices are
immediately available for use 24 hours a day, typically
spending most of their time in a low-power, standby mode.
When the phone rings, you don't expect it to have to boot
before you can answer it. As the PC merges with the
telephone, the CD player, the VCR, the TV and the DVD
player, it needs to match their capabilities, and give
the consumer something substantially better than they
get with separate, standalone units.

All work and no play makes dull markets
Most people point to developments in consumer electronics-new
audio and video entertainments, like home theater and
high-definition TV-and the vehicles for delivering them
(DVD, set-top boxes, DirecTV, cable, ADSL) as among the
best markets for semiconductors.
Yet there are indications that none of this will fill the
gaps in demand left by the stall of the PC market.
