I predict that the new nominee Primakov, will be approved this weekend and all will be rosey in Russia, next week and markets will respond accordingly. We may even hear more from our Russian offices as well,
further delineating bigger plans and deals to add to the bottom line!

You broke the code! Or Dana did. I have always thought this Russian crisis is overstated as far as their economy. It is no worse than during the Communist days, in fact it is still much better. I have not seen the long lines waiting for bread that were common during the communist days. What has happened is that the Russians have pulled their money out of banks and out of stocks, and are keeping it at home, and it is in dollars. They barter when they can, and use dollars when they can't barter. So it is a direct economy, very efficient for local transactions, not efficient for national transactions. But the money is there, and when they make phone calls they may just go down to the local telco and pay in cash for the services instead of writing a check. Once the economy stabilizes, the money will flow back into the banks.

jimmy said the same thing, the media is blowing this way out of proportion, he said they all had their money in their mattresses and that the run on banks was bull, they just needed a scapegoat.

You are right. My information says no crises except a media created crises. Everybody is eating.
