I think the big surprise will be inflation. It is not just gold that is firming. Oil and natural resources, commodities in general. I think the money spigots are going to open everywhere to head of the deflation. At least that seems to be what the market is saying.

You are correct,y2k is going to be much more serious than the average citizen thinks,if they even have heard of it.If vice-president Gore is the point man on this issue he has failed the country miserably.Until all the testing is done no company or government agency
really knows if they are compliant.If the stock exchanges had used all
factors in their tests,like real volume and all aspects of the exchange like derivatives the would be a confidence level in their results. As it is most of what is being stated must be taken with a grain of salt because neither businesses who fear profit loss or bankruptcy or the government that fears panic have an incentive to tell the truth if they are in fact non-compliant.
